BMW Motorcycles
BMW Motorrad Philippines is the official distributor of BMW motorcycles in the country. Apart from being a successful luxury car brand, BMW commenced its motorcycle journey in 1921 when the company started building engines for other companies. By 1923, BMW's own motorcycles sold under the BMW Motorrad brand began with the BMW R 32, powered by the brand’s flat-twin engine or better known as the boxer-twin engine.
Fast forward to 1993 and the German motorcycle brand began to transition from engines with air-cooled cylinder heads to oil-cooled cylinder heads. By 2007, BMW acquired Husqvarna Motorcycles, including its production facilities and staff, from Italian manufacturer MV Agusta.
Locally, BMW Motorrad Philippines opened its first ‘Motorcycle only’ showroom in Davao last December 2018. Unlike those typical BMW showrooms that normally place the motorcycles within small, cramped spaces, this particular branch features its own facility without the distraction of cars. Currently, its local lineup is composed of several models, including the BMW G 310 GS, BMW C 400 X, BMW F 700 GS, BMW S 1000 RR, BMW R nine T Scrambler 1200, and many more.
Today, BMW Motorrad Philippines is currently led by Ramon S. Ang. The brand itself has a total of five operational dealers locally.
