The Xtra LDX has two doors that come with sliding windows to let air in and keep the occupants cool. Behind the cabin is a cargo deck, similar to a bed of a pickup truck, and can be opened on either sides. It can carry up to 535kg worth of objects.

Performance is provided by an air-cooled 435cc diesel engine that has four strokes and one cylinder. It makes 9 hp and 23 Nm of torque, both of which are managed by a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox that also includes a reverse gear. Piaggio claims an average fuel consumption of 36 km/L and is Euro 4 compliant.

Safety features come in the form of drum brakes and a single wiper on the windshield.
