The Italjet Dragster 200 scooter promises to put a radical spin to city commutes with its design and performance. It’s a long-standing nameplate that’s making a comeback, as it was first launched in 1998 but discontinued in 2003.
The latest version was introduced globally in 2018 and entered the Philippine market a year later, and retains the good features that made its predecessors noteworthy. This scooter is priced at P360,000. Some of these smart features include RAAD forkless front suspension, adjustable rear suspension, Pirreli tires that cover a stylish wheel design and LED headlights that lend to the aggressive appearance. What’s also eye-catching is the trellis-like frame design.
Powering this Dragster is a 200cc water-cooled, single-cylinder engine, with four strokes and four valves. The engine makes 20 hp and 17 Nm of torque which is managed by an automatic dry centrifugal clutch with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
It’s also fitted with disc brakes on both wheels and an anti-lock braking system (ABS) for added safety.
