The Suzuki GSX-R model truly lives up to the tagline Suzuki has given it, which is ‘own the racetrack.’ After all, that motorcycle has plenty of motorsports awards in its trophy shelf such as eight wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans championship, for example. Now the Japanese brand has put all of their motorsports expertise in this super sport bike, the Suzuki GSX-R1000. It’s the fastest GSX-R ever built according to the Japanese marque. In the Philippines, it is available in three variants: ABS at P955,000, R ABS at P1,169,000, and RZ at P1,189,000.
The GSX-R1000 is packed with features worthy of your money. There’s an LCD instrument cluster that shows better clarity of essential riding information such as speed, tachometer, and odometer. It also displays the gear position and coolant temperature. The three-mode Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) system lets the rider select the power output levels of the engine to match riding ability and conditions. An Easy Start System starts the engine.
The GSX-R1000’s prowess is provided by a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine that churns out a healthy 199 hp and 118 Nm of torque. These numbers are put to the ground via a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox.
A host of safety electronics are present, such as an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for the ABS and R ABS variants, as well as traction control. Brembo dual disc brakes for the front, and a single unit in the rear, provide stopping duties for all the variants of the GSX-R1000.
