Advertised as “The Tourer With A Racing Spirit,” the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 is basically a sports bike built on a touring frame. The name Touring Veloce, which is an Italian term, translates to “Fast Touring” and it sits in the sports touring segment that’s dominated by notable nameplates like the Ducati Multistrada. The Touring Veloce made its first appearance at a press road test event in 2015. MV Agusta initially produced a low number of units for the Touring Veloce due to past financial crises.
Motostrada, the official distributor of MV Agusta in the Philippines, introduced the current-generation Turismo Veloce 800 in May 2019, together with the Brutale and F3 line. Aside from the standard ABS model, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce has three other variants: Lusso, Lusso SCS, and RC (Reparto Corse) SCS. SCS stands for Smart Clutch System, which provides electronic management to the bike’s clutch system. Price starts at P1,100,000 for the base variant and reaches up to P1,600,000, with its variants being composed of the Rosso, Lusso, Lusso SCS, and RC SCS.
Power is fed by a liquid-cooled, four-stroke DOHC 798cc engine that comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. This setup can reach 110 hp and 80 Nm of torque.
Among the basic safety and convenience features are full ABS and traction control suits, slipper clutch, immobilizer, steering damper, cruise control, and heated grips except for the ABS variant. It also comes with MV Agusta’s riding mode, quick shifter, and digital information screen. Lastly, the Turismo Veloce 800 features a full LED lighting system and a pass switch.
