Yamaha showcases the 2021 WR 155R with a virtual launch
A serious off-road machine in a street-legal package.
On October 25, 2020, Yamaha Philippines held a virtual event on its official Facebook page updating its dual-sport lineup by adding the new WR 155R to its lineup. The 2020 Yamaha WR 155 R is built for anyone who wants to experience some serious off-road action without having to worry about taking it as a daily ride as a street-legal motorcycle. This new dual-sport motorcycle is built for heavy-duty excitement giving you total control on any surface as a pinnacle for Yamaha’s signature off-road design.
It is powered by a lightweight 155 cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine similar to that of the XSR155, capable of producing 14.7 hp at 10,000 RPM and 14.3 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and is equipped with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) technology that optimizes performance both at low and high speeds delivering power and control for every road condition. Its semi-double-cradle frame gives excellent balance, rigidity, and stable handling with a high degree of freedom to allow you to tackle the toughest of terrains, and seamlessly transition into road use.
The WR 155R has a 41 mm front fork with coil springs and dampers and a linked type mono-cross rear suspension that produces a softer spring rate and excellent damping performance to keep the bike aloft. Stopping duties are provided by wave-style disc brakes for the front and rear designed to give the brake pads more grip resulting in excellent braking control. Meanwhile, its slim 8.1L fuel tank capacity allows you to go a little further while maintaining a slim profile for its chassis for better maneuverability. The WR 155R is also equipped with a compact LCD instrument panel that displays the essential rider readouts including a tachometer, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, clock, fuel, mileage, gear position indicator, and VVA indicator.
Yamaha brings the 2020 WR 155R in two color variations, Yamaha Blue, and Yamaha Black, and is priced at P169,000. It is now available at the Yamaha Flagship Shop the YZone and through its nationwide Yamaha Rev Zone dealership network.
