Wheeltek showcases the stunning Bimota Tesi H2 at Clark International Speedway
This unique supersport was unveiled during the legendary California Superbike School.
When it comes to beautiful, rolling pieces of art on two wheels, most people would conjure up images of sportbikes. This is especially true for people like myself who prefer modern machines as opposed to neo-retro-style two-wheelers. Indeed, while motorcycles like the Ducati Panigale V4 and BMW S 1000 RR are amongst the most beautiful machines to ever grace the earth, you could say that they pale in comparison to the bike we’re talking about today.
Bimota is a brand known by not many people in the motorcycling world. However, once you see any of its creations, chances are you’ll never forget it. Bimota is a boutique Italian motorcycle manufacturer that focuses primarily on sportbikes. Forced to close shop in the early 2000s, the company was brought back to life by none other than Kawasaki, who acquired a 49-percent stake in the company. Unsurprisingly, Bimota came back to life with its machines laden with Kawasaki technology—but there was a twist. As you can see in the images below, the Bimota Tesi H2, which was just showcased by Wheeltek during last weekend’s California Superbike School, is unlike any other motorcycle in existence.
The first thing that’s likely to catch your eye is the wild front suspension setup. Indeed, the front suspension is made out of a billet aluminum alloy swingarm, as opposed to conventional telescopic forks found on nearly all other motorbikes. Apart from looking absolutely stunning and otherworldly, this setup provides the Tesi H2 with impeccable handling by eliminating brake-dive and stiffening up the front end. Furthermore, this system is surprisingly lightweight, making the Tesi H2 even lighter (214 kilograms dry) than the Ninja H2 (238 kilograms dry) on which it was based.
While we’re on the topic of the Ninja H2, yes, the H2 in the Tesi’s name comes from none other than this machine, and it’s packing the same 998cc inline-four engine. Decked out with a supercharger that makes a distinct whirring sound as a result of the sonic boom produced inside its housing, this engine pumps out an astonishing 238 horsepower, thanks to the bike’s ram-air technology. As of this writing, we’re not sure whether Wheeltek will be selling the Tesi H2, or if it was just showcased here for all of us supersport aficionados. However, in Europe, it commands a staggering price tag of 64,000 Euros, which equates to an eye-watering P3,700,000.
