What do you think of the new Royal Enfield Bear 650 scrambler?

Royal Enfield has finally unveiled the much-anticipated Bear 650, a scrambler-style variant built on its 650cc twin-cylinder platform. This exciting addition pays homage to the brand's heritage, drawing inspiration from Eddie Mulder's legendary 1960 Big Bear Run victory on the Royal Enfield Fury 500.

Powered by the familiar 648cc parallel-twin engine, the Bear 650 delivers 47 hp at 7,150 rpm and 56.5 Nm of torque at 5,150 rpm, optimized for mid-range performance. Upgrades include a new compact exhaust system that not only enhances its scrambler aesthetic but also contributes to reduced weight.

Designed for off-road adventures, the Bear 650 features a reinforced tubular steel frame, a 43mm Showa inverted fork with 130mm travel, dual rear shocks, and 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels. These, paired with block-pattern tires, provide increased ground clearance of 184mm. Rider comfort and control are ensured by its wide handlebars, mid-set footpegs, and a flatter saddle.

Modern features include full LED lighting, Royal Enfield’s Tripper Dash with navigation, and a USB-C charging port. With retro-inspired styling and liveries like Petrol Green, Golden Shadow, and Two For Nine, the Bear 650 is poised to stand out in the middleweight segment.

While pricing and availability in the Philippines have yet to be confirmed, it’s expected to arrive soon and will surely be a welcome contender in the market. Filipino riders will appreciate its balance of rugged charm, heritage design, and affordability. Keep an eye out for updates on this exciting new scrambler!
