Suzuki launches its GSX-R1000R 100th Anniversary Edition
They celebrate in style with its classic racing livery.
As Suzuki celebrates its 100th-anniversary of doing business and eventually entering the motorcycle world, they unveil a special limited edition of one of its highest-performing sportbikes to ever roll out of their factory — the GSX-R1000R. This special limited edition sportbike will surely make quite a statement on your weekend track days, with speed and performance that will give you a nice grin from ear to ear. The Suzuki GSX-R1000R 100th Anniversary edition will have a limited production run of only 100 units.
True to its 1960s Grand Prix racing heritage, the limited edition GSX-R1000R sports a nice blue and silver racing livery, similar to its Suzuki Ecstar MotoGP GSX-RR race machine. It is equipped with all the advanced tech and performance goodies including lean angle-sensitive ABS, Showa Balance Free suspension, braided front brakes hoses, launch control, an adjustable swingarm pivot, LED position lights, negative instrument display, and a lightweight yoke.
Stopping duties are provided for by a pair of Brembo radial-mount monobloc 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers for the front, and a single-piston 200mm disc for the rear. It is powered by the same 999 cc, liquid-cooled inline 4-cylinder engine seen in the GXS-R1000 that’s capable of churning out 199 hp and 118 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Suzuki GSX-R1000R 100th Anniversary Edition will be available in Metallic Triton Blue/Metallic Mystic Silver color scheme, and can easily be customized with genuine Suzuki accessories according to your preference. It will also come with a slew of electronic rider aids to make it an even more formidable track machine.
With just 100 of these bikes available in the UK, this is a unique opportunity to own and be a part of Suzuki history. The GSX-R range, and the GSX-R 1000 in particular, has long been the flagship range of sports bikes with an illustrious history both on-road and on the racetrack. To mark 100 years Suzuki company, it was only fitting to adopt the retro-inspired livery of bikes that have achieved and contributed so much to our history.
If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on this limited edition bike, it will set you back for £16,999 or roughly P1,100,000 plus taxes and importation duties. However, you’ll surely get a lot of respect on your weekend track days with the Suzuki GSX-R1000R 100th Anniversary Edition.
