Suzuki launches the 2023 Hayabusa in Europe with three new colorways
Apart from a new look, the Suzuki Hayabusa remains mechanically unchanged.
The Suzuki Hayabusa is a motorbike that has a significant cultural impact. The so-called peregrine falcon, which was one of the most outrageous bikes of the period, is credited with starting the so-called speed war between Japanese manufacturers. In fact, the Hayabusa formerly held the record for the fastest motorbike in production.
Moving ahead to the present, Suzuki must face the regrettable truth that the Hayabusa is no longer among the world's fastest bikes due to increasing emissions regulations. The Hayabusa was reintroduced in 2021 after a four-year sabbatical, now compatible with Euro 5 requirements but still lacking in terms of speed. The Hayabusa is still no slouch, though. The Hayabusa sports a powerful 1,340cc in-line four-cylinder engine that produces 190 horsepower at 9,700 rpm and 105 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm.
The Japanese firm has made it clear, however, that it has no intention of vying with other businesses for the distinction of having the fastest bike in the world after Suzuki suspended all of its motorsports-related activities. In reality, we're lucky to still have the Hayabusa when the GSX-R1000 was discontinued in the European market. Suzuki has updated the Hayabusa's color schemes for 2023, which indicates that this massive supersport will survive for at least one more year.
Suzuki has unveiled the Hayabusa in three hues for the 2023 model year specifically for the European market. In addition to a gray and red livery evocative of the first-generation Hayabusa from two decades ago, the bike has a stealthy and sophisticated all-black paint finish. But the white and blue design, which gives the Hayabusa a sleek and modern appearance, is undoubtedly the one that gives it the freshest look. Additionally, the bike now has a rear seat cowl available as an extra to give it an even sportier appearance.
Suzuki Philippines has yet to make any announcements about the 2023 Hayabusa landing in local dealerships. However, the previous model, which is mechanically identical to the 2023 model, is still on sale at P1,199,000.
