KTM opens flagship dealership in Bonifacio Global City
Under the Austrian motorcycle brand's new local distributor Adventure Cycle Philippines, Inc. (ACPI), KTM has finally opened its first showroom in BGC.
Located along the 28th Street of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, KTM BGC shares the same facility with Volkswagen BGC since ACPI is also under the Ayala Automotive Holdings Corp. (who also happens to own VW Philippines). The dealership fits several motorcycles on display which includes KTM's wide range of Adventure, Enduro, Freeride, Mini, Motocross, Naked, and Sport bikes. The current line-up starts from as low as P169,000 for a 200 Duke and goes as high as P1,399,000 for a 1290 Super Duke SE.
If you count everything on their price list, KTM offers 42 models and variants in total. They also sell official KTM accessories and apparel so riders can suit up to match their motos.
This is only the first of many as ACPI plans to open 35 more dealership in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
We found a true partner who believed that we can change the fate of a country that looks beyond a service-backed industry but, into a manufacturing-based industry. Transitioning and believing in the Philippines and that all the capabilities in the country is enough to be competitive in a global scale. Right now, we are embarking on this first step, and we feel that this is a small step for what we can achieve not only as a company, but as a country,” said AC Industrial Technology Holdings Inc. President and CEO Art Tan.
Aside from selling KTMs, they also plan to manufacture the motorcycles starting next year. A plant inside the Laguna Technopark is set to produce the 200 Duke, 390 Duke, RC 200, and the RC 390 locally. Maximum capacity is pegged at 20,000 units per year, but they're only targeting to produce 6,000 units on its first year of operation.
Half of that will be sold to the Philippine market while the rest will be exported to China.
