KTM introduces low-seat KTM 390 Adventure V in India
Would Pinoy ADV riders benefit from a lower seat height on the massively popular KTM 390 Adventure?
KTM launched the 390 Adventure X in India in April 2023. By eliminating extravagant features and advanced technology, KTM was able to make the X version more cost-effective, appealing to riders who are budget-conscious but seek a high-performing adventure motorcycle. Recently, KTM has unveiled another edition of its favored adventure motorcycle, known as the 390 Adventure V.
As a consequence, the 390 Adventure V retains the same technological features as the standard version but is significantly more accessible. The only drawback is the reduced ground clearance, which may be a disadvantage when navigating challenging off-road landscapes. Nonetheless, the lowered seat height will undoubtedly appeal to riders who are shorter in stature and previously had difficulty with the higher seat of the 390 Adventure.
The 390 Adventure V stands out from the standard and X models due to its shorter seat height. KTM didn't just modify the seat and forks to achieve a more accessible 830mm seat height. Instead, they replaced the motorcycle's complete suspension system with the forks and monoshock from the 390 Duke naked bike.
Regarding features, the 390 Adventure V showcases the same advanced technology as the standard 390 Adventure. It boasts sophisticated electronics, including a full-color TFT display, cornering ABS, and traction control. The motorcycle is also equipped with the identical 373cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that generates 44 horsepower and 27.2 pound-feet of torque. Aside from the modified suspension, the 390 Adventure V is practically identical to the standard version, including the same graphics and color options.
Here in the Philippines, the KTM 390 Adventure is widely regarded as the go-to adventure bike for folks looking for an approachable, inexpensive, yet performance-focused machine. With a price tag of just P338,000, the 390 Adventure offers unbeatable value for money, especially given the level of sophisticated technology it brings to the table. With the launch of the 390 Adventure V, shorter riders will be able to join in on the ADV fun. We certainly hope that KTM will offer this approachable variant of the popular adventure bike in the Philippines.
