When we think of Ducati, images of iconic superbikes built for outright performance come to mind. From bikes as iconic as the Ducati 916 to modern-day superheroes like the Panigale V4R, it can be said that nothing comes close to the legendary status that Ducati has created for itself.
That being said, the iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer continues to innovate — to bring us creations that raise the bar in terms of two-wheeled performance. That’s right, Ducati has launched yet another variant of the massively popular Panigale sportbike. The Ducati Panigale V4 SP is the latest addition to the Panigale lineup. Powered by a 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale V4, the new superbike pumps out an exhilarating 214 hp at an eye-watering 13,000 rpm.
Cladding the special mill of the Panigale V4 SP is a slew of carbon fiber bodywork that’s sure to have you ogling for unnecessarily long periods of time. Equipped with split 5-spoke carbon fiber wheels, wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires, the bike is sure to be an ultimate track beast, ready to annihilate any circuit you put it on. To top the bike’s aesthetics off, Ducati has decided to finish it in their stunningly sleek Winter Test livery, which makes use of a lot of matte black with red highlights. A brushed aluminum tank serves as the centerpiece to this stunning superbike.
As far as underpinnings are concerned, the Panigale is up in the big league with a set of Öhlins NIX30 forks and a TTX36 rear mono-shock which both feature electronic adjustment. To prove its mettle as a lean mean racing machine, Ducati has equipped the SP with launch control, a bidirectional quick shifter, IMU-powered ABS and traction control, and even slide control as is found in the Panigale V4R.
Ducati Philippines has yet to announce the launch of this bike in the local market. So if you’re looking for a purebred Italian stallion built for the track, you’ll be best served by the Ducati Panigale V4 S, which is priced at a sweet P1,995,000 for the standard version, and P2,100,000 for the Corse edition.
