Chinese brand Kove unveils 800X Adventure in the global market
Chinese brands are stepping up their game, and the new Kove 800X Adventure is proof of this.
Kove, the fresh face in the motorcycle domain since its global debut in 2022, is wasting no time expanding its product lineup. After the introduction of its 450cc rally replica, the company now takes a leap into the mid-size ADV segment with the unveiling of its 800X Adventure.
The midweight ADV niche has been witnessing a surge in popularity, primarily attributed to the successes of industry giants like KTM with its 790 and 890 Adventure, Yamaha's Tenere 700, and Aprilia's Tuareg 660. Joining the fray more recently are brands such as Benelli and CFMoto, each presenting their own take on the ideal middleweight adventure machine. Kove steps into this arena, following a familiar formula set by its counterparts. The 800X range focuses on off-road capabilities while ensuring the essential touring amenities integral to an adventure bike are not overlooked.
At the core of this adventure machine lies a 799cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine, reminiscent of the powertrains found in CFMoto's 800MT and the KTM 790 series. Power delivery boasts a healthy 96.5 horsepower and 80 Nm of torque, enabling the bike to claim a top speed of 210 kilometers per hour.
To tackle varying terrains, the motorcycle features substantial suspension components from Chinese brand Yu-An, providing 210mm of wheel travel and a ground clearance of 245mm. Sporting a 21-18 wheel combination equipped with CST off-road tires, the bike is geared for adventurous rides. Braking duties are handled by twin 310 mm rotors upfront, complemented by a single rotor at the rear. Notably, the bike is equipped with a slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, traction control, and even a steering damper, all as standard features.
In terms of aesthetics, the 800X Adventure showcases a design clearly inspired by rally bikes, boasting LED lights, crashbars, an aluminum belly pan, and a full-color TFT display.Kove presents three variants: the Standard, the Pro, and the Rally. The Pro variant enhances performance with adjustable KYB suspension, while the Rally version takes it a step further with increased travel and ground clearance.
Kove has unveiled the pricing and release details for the 800X Adventure in Italy. The Standard model will be priced at 8,990 euros, roughly equivalent to around P548,000, while the Pro version will come in at 9,790 euros, approximately P597,000. As for the Rally model, slated for a fall 2024 arrival, it commands a significantly higher price tag of 12,980 euros, or about P791,000.
