Check out the 2024 KTM 790 Duke
KTM has refreshed The Scalpel with new graphics for the 2024 model-year.
KTM has just revealed that the 790 Duke is making a comeback in 2024 with minimal alterations to what they affectionately call "the original scalpel." The main changes revolve around fresh graphics and two additional color options. Now, let's dive into the specs for the 2024 model.
In the performance department, the 2024 KTM 790 Duke remains equipped with a liquid-cooled, eight-valve, 799cc dual overhead cam parallel twin engine. This powerplant claims to deliver 103 horsepower and 87 newton-meters of torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine's bore and stroke measure 88mm by 65.7mm, and it's paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a PASC antihopping slipper clutch.
When it comes to suspension, you'll find a WP Apex 43 open-cartridge upside-down fork at the front, complete with progressive springs. In the rear, the familiar open lattice swingarm is present along with a WP Apex rear shock that offers progressive spring and preload adjustability. Braking duties are handled by radially mounted four-piston fixed calipers up front with 300mm brake discs, and a single-piston floating caliper in the rear paired with a 240mm disc.
The 2024 KTM 790 Duke introduces four ride modes, namely Sport, Street, Rain, and Track. It also comes with switchable traction control and motor slip regulation as standard features. Riders can conveniently access and adjust settings via the user-friendly TFT display on the dash, which adjusts its illumination based on ambient light levels.
KTM's signature bold and aggressive Duke styling remains unchanged for the 2024 model, except for the updated color choices and graphics. The seat sits at 825mm and offers excellent grip to keep the rider in place, even during dynamic riding. For shorter riders, KTM offers an optional low seat, reducing the seat height to 805mm. Additionally, in Europe, there's an A2 license-compliant version of the 2024 KTM 790 Duke, limited to 95 horsepower.
