2022 MV Agusta Brutale RS now available for P1,700,000
After debuting globally in September, the new hyper naked arrives in the Philippines.
After a global debut in September, the 2022 MV Agusta Brutale RS is now available in the Philippines. Motostrada, the official local distributor of the Italian brand, has brought in one of the most exciting MV models to date.
What makes the Brutale RS compelling is its value proposition. The naked bike takes its chassis from the Brutale RR, one of MV Agusta's most powerful offerings. Visually, the RS differs from the RR with a changed seating configuration, five-spoke cast-aluminum wheels, and a new suspension setup.
The Brutale RS also packs a new Euro 5 engine with four cylinders and formidable performance. The 998cc power plant delivers up to 208 hp at 13,000 RPM and 116.5 Nm of torque at 11,000 RPM. That brings the RS' top speed to a blistering 300 km/h.
MV Agusta's engineers aimed to fix the engine's cooling and lubrication. The team accomplished this by working on several issues, including frictional losses and combustion performance. The Brutale RS features titanium valves and connecting rods, higher-pressure fuel injectors, and a new exhaust system for good measure.
The Brutale RS' suspension setup is composed of a 50mm inverted Marzocchi front fork and a Sachs rear shock. The braking system uses double floating Brembo 320 mm rotors with Stylema radial-mount four-piston calipers at the front. The rear gets a single steel disc brake with a 220 mm Brembo rotor and a two-piston caliper.
As for electronics, the Brutale RS benefits from a new six-axis IMU inertial platform. The system enables advanced safety features like Continental MK 100 ABS and lean-angle-sensitive traction control. There's also a new Eldor Nemo 2.1 ECU that connects to the MVICS 2.1 injection-ignition software. The rider can check and control electronics settings through the 5.5-inch TFT display with smartphone functionality.
All in all, the MV Agusta Brutale RS provides a taste of power in an attractive and slightly more affordable package. It currently sells for P1,700,000, that's P300,000 cheaper than the Brutale RR.
