Top 5 fastest naked bikes you can buy in the Philippines
Fast bikes you can ride on the daily.
Naked bikes are arguably one of the most popular segments in the motorcycle segment. After all, what’s not to love? You get the performance of a sportbike and the comfort of a standard road-going machine. This sweet spot between performance and comfort translates into an extremely versatile platform which can stand up to practically anything you throw at it.
Having said that, motorcycle manufacturers are constantly working towards making their bikes even faster. As such, this has given birth to a sub-segment in the naked motorcycle segment: the hyper naked. Hyper naked motorcycles, as the name suggests, are naked bikes which spend way too much time in the gym, and deliver otherworldly levels of performance. Luckily, a good number of hyper naked bikes are available in the local market. Let’s take a look at the top 5 fastest naked bikes you can buy in the Philippines.
Yamaha MT-10
The first motorcycle in our list comes to us from the Japanese manufacturer Yamaha. The biggest and baddest machine in its Master of Torque lineup, the MT-10, deserves a spot on our list thanks to its impressive performance and relatively affordable price tag. Equipped with a 998cc inline-four cylinder, the MT-10 makes use of a 270-degree crossplane crankshaft, hence the moniker CP4 on its engine.
The crossplane crankshaft gives the motor the power delivery and sound characteristics of a V4 engine. This means that the Yamaha MT-10 offers peak torque lower in the rev range, and a more even spread of power all across the rev range. The MT-10 is available in the local market with a sticker price starting at P799,000, making it the most affordable motorcycle in this list.
Kawasaki Z H2
The next bike on our list is the only motorcycle on this list to make use of forced induction. Sharing the same engine as its fully faired sibling, the Ninja H2, the Kawasaki Z H2 is the most powerful naked bike to roll out of Kawasaki’s assembly line. Equipped with a 998cc supercharged inline four-cylinder engine, the Z H2 pumps out an exhilarating 197 horsepower at 10,500 rpm.
Apart from its neck-breaking performance, the Z H2 employs Kawasaki’s signature styling which consists of beefy bodywork and sharp styling which gives the bike a dark and menacing appearance. It’s currently available in the local market for a sticker price of P890,000.
Ducati Streetfighter V4 S
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 S is quite possibly one of the most premium naked sport bikes currently available in the market. Apart from looking the absolute business, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 boasts technology found on world class racing machines such as the Panigale V4. It is arguably the most technologically advanced naked bike thanks to features such as cornering ABS, traction control, slide control, wheelie control, and launch control.
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 S is equipped with a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale 90-degree V4 engine. Complete with liquid cooling and advanced electronic fuel injection, this engine produces a whopping 208 horsepower and 123 Nm of torque. The Ducati Streetfighter V4 S can be yours for P1,550,000.
BMW S 1000 R
The BMW S 1000 R promises to deliver uncompromising dynamics and precision riding. Based on the S 1000 RR super sport, the S 1000 R carries over all the razor-sharp characteristics found in its supersport sibling. It’s aggressive styling mated to its upright seating position provide this bike with engaging riding dynamics in a tractable platform that can be ridden on a daily basis.
As far as performance is concerned, the S 1000 R gets the same 999cc inline-four found in the S 1000 RR, albeit slightly detuned to favor road-going scenarios. As such, it produces 165 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque. To its disposal is a slew of electronic rider aids, all of which are powered by a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). The BMW S 1000 R is available starting at P1,095,000.
MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR
The last bike on our list comes from none other than legendary Italian motorcycle manufacturer, MV Agusta. The Brutale 1000 RR is undoubtedly at the bleeding edge of hyper naked performance, and is the perfect combination of beauty, comfort, and performance all packaged in a lightweight, tractable platform. The Brutale 1000 RR is indeed a technological marvel, and packs quite a punch in the performance segment.
It draws power from a high-revving 998cc inline-four cylinder engine that produces a whopping 208 horsepower and 117 Nm of torque. At its disposal is a slew of sophisticated riding aids which includes six-axis IMU-powered traction control, cornering ABS, launch control, and multiple ride modes. All this performance and technology will set you back a rather steep P2,000,000.
