The Moto Guzzi V85 TT is the perfect bike for retro ADV aficionados
This rugged beauty is the perfect mix of retro style and all-terrain capability.
Adventure bikes are undeniably the most popular type of big bike in the Philippines. A trip to your favorite gas station situated along the expressway on a Sunday morning makes this extremely apparent, as a huge chunk of the bikes parked there are ADV machines. Be it for a trip to your local Starbucks, or an actual adventure ride with moderate off-road terrain, many riders choose adventure bikes because of their versatility, comfort, and performance. That being said, elegant styling has never been the ADV’s strongest suit. The Moto Guzzi V85 TT, however, looks to change that.
The Moto Guzzi V85 TT, a relatively underrated ADV machine, undoubtedly has a lot going for it—more than many people realize. Indeed, if you want your adventure bike to be full of character, flaunt a unique retro appearance, and performance that's worthy of a second look, the V85 TT could just be the bike for you. Let's take a closer look at this charming and surprisingly capable ADV bike, shall we?
Its styling is unmistakable
It is immediately apparent that this bike is one of the few adventure bikes with a neo-retro design that are now on the market. It has a sculpted body with an exposed trellis frame that gives it a truly elegant yet athletic appearance. Additionally, the bike's fairings not only shield it from the wind and other elements but also give it an adventurous appearance, as if it were prepared to travel to Dakar and conquer the terrain.
Go anywhere in comfort and confidence
You can ride the Moto Guzzi V85 TT through anything, and it can get through it—so long as the tires are on the ground, that is. This is partly due to its robust, premium foundations, which are made up of long-travel suspension components. A 41mm inverted fork with an impressive 170mm of suspension travel is found up front. According to Moto Guzzi, this configuration provides "complete control in off-road riding" in addition to accuracy and assurance when riding on the road. T he V85 TT has separate-function front forks, which Moto Guzzi claims provide better levels of rebound damping and spring preload control. The bike's rear suspension system fits the same description.
It has the goods to back it up
Of course, performance is a necessary topic when discussing adventure bikes. After all, ADV machines must be capable of doing any task. A genuine adventure-ready vehicle needs to have the gusto to push through anything the road—or lack thereof—throws at it, including lengthy highway stretches, winding roads, and harsh off-road terrain. An 853cc, 90-degree transverse-mounted V-Twin engine is what powers the Moto Guzzi V85 TT. Thanks to its unusual engine design, the V85 TT, which produces more than 80 horsepower, is more than capable of achieving impressive and exhilarating speeds as well as stable and powerful acceleration.
